I Love Stories like this, Ghost stories... And I know ghost hunter, the fear, the superstitions always hides a bigger story... A true story...
This happened in Clark Airbase Philippines
a largest american overseas and a former U.S army facility. Americans operated here for almost 100 years. Long enough for ghosts stories to emerge especially for one place the Hospital...
Ramon Tiglao, A former security guard in the Clark Airbase Hospital said: "I cannot forget that day 1973 of May". Ramon works in the hospital 10 in the evening until 6 in the morning. every hour he walks to check and walk to his post. one midnight he walks to the 1st floor of the building to have roving then suddenly he heard those noise of boots in the cement. His body got cold and said "Oh God, what's wrong with me?". despite of his feelings, he continue to do roving then he intercept a guy, a big guy wearing a complete uniform (fatigue and camouflage). when he look at his face, the soldier had no face. and because of this Ramon was scared and his heart beats fast.
The soldier ask for cigarette. and when Ramon give the cigar to the soldier he felt the coldness of the soldiers hand. after that Ramon couldn't see him anymore... And after Ramon closes the back door, he immediately went to his outpost and stayed. he told himself that "Oh that's a ghost, that's a ghost."
Robert Joe, A blogger and also an Urban explorer browse some archives of the footage of the Hospital looking for answers. and then discovered its purpose... the hospital is being built to treat those critically wounded in Vietnam.
Mike Sculley, had been a medic on the Clark Airbase Hospital. Mike didn't hear some ghost stories in the hospital and according to Mike the hospital was the best hospital he worked at. this was considered to be "paradise"...
Clark Airbase was the logistical hub for the Americans during the Vietnam war. it is a bloody war that lasted 2 decades. Clark Hospital would seen many of the wounded and the dead. this could have been inspired the story about the ghost soldier. and this I believe why many people are so afraid and tell that this place is haunted...
There is also a place within Clark Airbase which is very haunted. Ding Cervantes a local journalist interviewed a local security and this is Ramon Tiglao. Ramon told to Ding his another terrible experience and this are:
1. Chains being dragged.
2. Voices being heard even there is no one being there.
3. A white lady crossing a portion of the building.
Frank Regis, A meta-physicist said: "We can visualize the world as a grid. There are positive grid and there are also negative grid and most haunting happen in the negative grid where there is a history of violence and a history of pain."
Ramon Tiglao witnessed the arrival of wounded soldiers from day until night everyday. some soldiers have no hands, they bring sick people in the hospital during the Vietnam war, some got shot, and some soldier got burned their body. everyday there are 6 buses carrying soldiers and the maximum capacity of the bus is 60. so meaning the hospital receives more than 200-300 wounded soldiers per day... they bring the wounded soldiers directly to the basement... and Ramon said: "today if you walk to the basement you would hear noises." and that's the reason why Ramon wouldn't go to the basement...
John Gilbert, a med veteran who is helping maintain the Clark Veteran Cemetery said: "There are still 25% of the cemetery that can still be utilize." and according to John bodies buried into the basement mounted to urban legend.
Is there any Mental Unit in the Clark Airbase Hospital to help those mentally affected soldiers after the battle?
well the answer is yes there is a mental unit behind the Clark Airbase Hospital...
Dr. Andrew Wiest, Vietnam war expert talk about Vietnam war Syndrome and PTSD and base from Dr. Weist these two are the same... its essentially soldiers seeing troma in combat and come home changed. And PTSD isn't simple PTSD involves everything from flashback to nightmares to unable to function in the society. and the only cure that the doctors did is to send them back into war as often as they could.
World War II, there were 60 million were killed in 6 years. up to one million in the Philippines. and Clark was right at the middle of it.
December 8, 1941 - A day before Pearl Harbor the Japanese attacked the Clark Airbase.
April 9, 1942 - The U.S surrenders the Bataan Peninsula to the Japanese. 75,000 Filipino and American troops were force to make 104 km march to prison caps and many are in need of food, water, and medical care. and those who couldn't march were killed and there were almost 11,000 prisoners died. it became known as BATAAN DEATH MARCH.
Fernando Santos, Eyewitness on the very first training of the Kamikaze. the Kamikaze were taught about different kinds of American Warships. and in the airfield which Fernando mentioned, Robert discovered A Bomb Shelter which kamikaze made.
The first kamikazes flew from Clark in 1944, when Takijiro Onishi attack unit, place 250 kg bombs on fighter planes. and targeted U.S Carriers.
50 Years later an active volcano force the american to evacuate the Clark Airbase and this is the Mount Pinatubo Eruption in 1991. nearly 15,000 American service personnel were evacuated.
For almost 100 years. this place was wrap in conflict. I'm not sure if it has real ghost. but history haunts it...
